Why do I buy them toys?

We walk three to four times a week as a family. Well, Mr. Dunbar, Dodger, Blue, and I do. The boys sit in the stroller and enjoy the ride. These have been the toys of choice most recently.

WW- One Year Ago Today

Bogie was too little for the dentist's chair.

Monkey cooperated like a pro.

Yes, Bogie saw the dentist when he was just about a month old.

He was born with TWO teeth and he needed to be seen.

The fabulous dentist is Dr. (cousin) Crystal who went to Harvard Dental School. (Mr. Dunbar's cousin.)

To date, Bogie only has five teeth. Four on the top, one on the bottom.

He just may not get bottom front teeth until he's six- something like 70-80% chance. They had to pull the two teeth he came out with because his gum bed wasn't strong enough to hold them.

The boys are scheduled to go again soon.

Hello, again...

I've started a few projects around the house. Its like I've got ADD or ADHD, again. Haven't had it in about two years. Then a few weeks ago, about the time I was reading Twilight non-stop, my brain was on overdrive but I was so engrossed in the books I didn't pay it much attention. A few days ago an annoying friend came back to visit after two years! And well, its one of those things where you don't really like this "friend" but somehow their visit comes about once a month and you just have to throw up your hands and say "Staying a while?"

Aynhow, my energy is back, and that is a good thing. Pictures forthcoming... something about moving a desk (in the midst of my ADHD) and not connecting the cords right or something. Oh and I did the same thing with the phone...

Sunday Thought

Did you know that Jesus first miracle was turning water to wine at a wedding?

If you went to church today (Sandals Church) then of course you knew that.

But up until this morning, I had never given it much thought. Our Pastor gave a lot of background on this miracle and how Jesus' momma; Mary, was the one that called Him to it. Gotta love Moms, especially mom's of boys. (Of course I'm impartial.) Anyhow, Pastor Matt talked a lot about weddings, especially modern day weddings. It made me smile, as he was the one who performed our wedding. It was bliss until he asked my husband to marry himself. You can see a great picture of it here. It was a wonderful wedding, put together in three months. But even in three months I spent countless hours taking care of every detail I could possible think of. I mean I spent hours upon hours upon hours. But didn't we all? Then today I thought of Jesus and how he created wine (20 - 30 gallons) out of jugs of water because He could, because someone asked Him to do it. In a matter of a minute. No grapes. No fermentation process. No extended time. He did it because he could (and because His mom asked Him too.) Wow. He is a miracle worker, the creator of the heavens and earth. I need to remember that. I think I had forgotten what Jesus is truly capable of doing, if only I asked.

John 2 5-11

But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions.
When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. 10 “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

Loving Mother Earth

In an effort to honor Earth Day today the boys each planted a fruit plant. Monkey: strawberries. Bogie: tomato. We talked about recycling, living "green," and why it's important to take care of God's creation; our earth.

I'm not really the green thumb in the Dunbar home, more like the 'black' thumb actually, but it was a fun adventure for all of us. (New camera, lots of dirt, little shovels, little hands and a solo mama don't mix.) The boys had a good time and I'm glad to have done my part to instill in them a virtue of taking care of our Mother Earth.

The Saga is Over

Just in case you were wondering where I've been... I finally completed all of the Twilight books. Whoooo. They were so fascinating, and I had no nightmares so that was good. I must say that I absolutely adored Jacob. He made me laugh at I was so sad about his pain, but Edward is still the MAN. Any preferences? My friend told me yesterday if you go to the stephaniemeyer.com website there is a sneak preview of book five, 260 pages of it. Wow. If I start reading a novel online right now, Mr. Dunbar will kill me. So I am going to take a breather for a while.

Our Celebration

We had a nice Easter weekend. Saturday we celebrated with Mr. Dunbar's family. One of his cousins has a "farm" about an hour away. (I'm not sure if it is technically a farm. By this city girl's definition it is; lots of animals, land, barn and dirt equates to farm for me.) We had a nice lunch and the boys got to pet the horses, check out a chicken coop, and throw rocks across field with thier cousins till they were exhausted. It was a bit chilly, well really chilly, and my camera battery was dead so unfortunately there are no pictures to post of Saturday. Super bummed on that!! But it is always so much fun to hang out with Mr. Dunbar's family and catch up with family that we don't get to see very often.

Sunday morning we went to church and then headed over to my parent's house for our annual Easter breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny always visits Grandma and Papa's house and the boys made out with tons of stuff: clothes, snacks, toys, new baseball gloves and balls, toiletry items, and super cool shoes. And of course Monkey tore into the baskets the second they walked in the door I didn't even have a chance to grab the camera. (Note to self: Mom enters the house first on holidays.) It was a smaller celebration than usual but we made the best of it and the boys had a blast finding all of the eggs.

Even Bogie figured out how to pick up the eggs and drop them into the basket.

The eggs at Grandma and Papa's house are only filled with coins, so the baskets got pretty heavy, Monkey was dragging his around. He and Papa counted all of his money and watched TV on grandma's phone afterward, then he played baseball with Grandma.

By the early afternoon the boys were wiped out.

Oh and the best part, the Easter Bunny always visits the adults too! Don't you want to know what we got?
