Cold Toes

Every night when I climb into bed, inevitably, my toes are cold. Ice cold. Like you could mistake them for ice cubes, cold.  So, I snuggle up to Mr. Dunbar and shove my icy toes under is warm legs or bum.  He does this crazy wacky snake movement to shake me off and then says something like "Get off me Devil Woman!" And I laugh, he says its not funny, and I laugh again. Then he pulls my pillow out from under me and hits me with it, and then I tell him that's not funny. And then he laughs. This is how we go to bed almost every single night. Like a routine. Something to look forward to, something to fall asleep with a smile on your face.

I asked him last night if he thought everyone went to sleep the way we do?  He said, "No," a lot of people, men in particular, probably have other "outlets." It made me sad.  But it also reminded me of how good I've got it:
A husband who loves me.
A husband who laughs with me, and at me.
A husband who comes home to me every single night.

And then I rolled over, thanked God above, and fell asleep. With a smile on my face.

And of course, a picture... from last week's basketball practice. He looks like he's about to fall asleep. That's what 4:45am mornings do to you. But he woke up real quick when Monkey had to go potty.

Wow, so much to tell you!

For starters thank you for your kind words. It means a lot to me to hear something like that from an amazing momma like yourself! :) And tons of pics already overwhelming my camera!

I just read back and saw that you were in an accident, how scary! I'm glad you're okay but so bummed about your pain. Hopefully it goes away soon...

I can't believe you've entered the realm of sports! Your Monkey is getting SO big!

Maybe cold toes are just inherit to women? I do the exact same thing to Joe...why are they always SO warm???

This was the cutest post ever. Really. It made me smile. My husband calls me "Devil Woman" once in a while too. But it always makes me laugh when he does. We are lucky gals, that's for sure. Mr. Dunbar seems like a great man.

Carlos and I go to bed at different times. I am a morning person he loves the night. So on cold winter nights I ask him to come warm the bed for me. AKA letting me put my toes on him! They are so sweet! :) H

I love it:-) You're hilarious. What a crazy fun way to fall asleep at night!!

Why in the world are our feet always FROZEN solid?? I have the same issue. Jeff gets SO irritated when I touch him with them too.

Devil Woman... I love it!! :-)

Too funny! However, ours is backwards...my husband is the one with the cold feet and tries to snuggle up to me! AND, I too am a victim of being called "devil woman"...like when i tell him to take the trash out, it goes something like this: "dont tell me what to do devil woman!" and then we laugh! =)
cute post!

I just have to tell you that while my man is away in India, I have been needing to wear not one, but TWO pairs of socks to keep my feet warm!! I laughed when I read what you said about putting your cold toes on him... I totally get that! LOL

Each night when I put my toes on my hubby he calls me Ice Queen and I thank him for recognizing my royalty. He sometimes tries to cocoon himself so my toes can't infiltrate. Hee hee.

I thought I was the only one who did this. It's such a game as to how he avoids my cold toes but inevitably I win :) He's good like that.
