Chevy vs. Dodge

I was in Mr. Dunbar's truck this morning driving to work.
He has a Chevy Silverado.
It got hit from behind at 8:13am.
Thank goodness I wasn't in my own car because this is what the Dodge truck that hit me looked like.

The bed of our truck took all of the impact and visibly only the bumper was crooked with some dents, but we think that there may be more structural damage.
It's at the car doctor right now.

I already went to the doctor, just because I'm sore.

So, I'm taking a short blogging break to re-coop.
See you all soon.

Pizza Party -Jansen Style

We have these friends; the Jansens.
They throw the BEST parties ever.
This weekend they had all of our close friends over for a March Madness Pizza Party. Now if I had a Pizza Party we'd be ordering Domino's, but not the Jansens.
They do food, the right way; from scratch.
Everyone brought two assigned toppings and we had ourselves some brick-made pizza.
Super supreme pizza.
Just an example of how, everyone eats before mom; my plate and Bogie's plate.
Thai chicken pizza, complete with peanut sauce, mozzarella, peanuts, chicken, and cilantro.
And for dessert; smores pizza cookies and Pizookies.
My favorite!

What kind of pizza would you have made?

Every ten years...

Its a daunting task.
Counting each and every person living here is the USA.
I'm excited to see where everyone is.

Have you sent yours in?
I heard Cali may lose a seat to Texas or South Carolina.
People are tired of the rat race we call Southern California.
I don't blame them.

But I do like the sunshine here.
(We're all wearing flips today. Love it.)

The Pinata

This was by far the best part of the party.
Can you tell what the pinata was?
My dad couldn't.
He kept asking everyone, "Do you know what it is? Come on??"
Bogie liked it.
It's a cupcake.
They didn't have any icecream cones.
Trying to get the rope over the tree branch was a feat. Our basketball-marathon runner dad, got the lemon tied rope down. The kids were all excited.

About half way through the line of kids the pinata fell off the rope. But the dad's couldn't get the rope back up over the branch. So this guy decided to climb the tree. It was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. This brown guy up in my tree trying the grab a rope over a branch.  Hilarious. I almost peed in my pants I was laughing so hard. But he got the job done and the bigger kids were able to take a hit.

So do you have pinatas at your kids' parties?

Ice Cream Social

Bogie had an ice cream social on Saturday. I went back and forth on whether or not to do a party, so in the end, I tried to do a small get together. Somehow it didn't turn out so small. The boy has got a lot of friends. (He's a Dunbar, they're really popular in these parts.)

Here is the table mostly set up. And little man trying to figure out what he wants.
"Ummmm, I think I'll take one of these..."
Then I got this fabulous idea from Nancy who had a Bakery Party, and she played "Pin the Cherry on the Cupcake." I just tweaked it and turned mine into an icecream cone. This is what your game looks like when you decide to put it together the night before at 10pm.
I know, cherries are red, but all my red paper was gone. Of course, I didn't discover this until it was too late. Ah, well. The kids had fun.

My brother is the one, who walked around the party taking pictures. He took like a gazillion. Which I am so thankful for. He also did that on my wedding day and now I have pictures of everyone who attended. (Thanks Adam!) Of course 200 pictures were of his little guy.

We did the pinata  (which will get  its own post tomorrow) before we had cupcakes, that's why Bogie's got a sucker in his mouth. It didn't stop him from digging into a cupcake. I paid for that mistake all day Sunday.

Bogie got wheels. Our "river" friends got him the jet ski. It's so cool.
Monkey decided he needed more icecream towards the end of the party. This is how we found him. Lovely.
I'm still in shock that Bogie is TWO.
