The Low Down on Summer

It flew by.

We spent the majority of the summer moving. And I took zero pictures. For almost an entire month I would spend every week day moving boxes and unpacking and then in the evening going back and packing more boxes to unload and unpack the next day. It was not all that fun. Finally, I declared August “summertime.”

And the boys swam every single day. Sometimes jumping in the pool first thing in the morning, in their PJ’s. Rules were implemented after the fourth time this happened.

We had a few play-dates.

Went on a few day trips.

And then I woke up one morning and thought, “Holy cow, school starts on Monday.”

That was four days ago. Over the course of the summer, I took approximately 100 shots. Glamorous I know.

So without further ado, here is a snippet of our summer.

The boys went to VBS again this year.IMG_1579IMG_1586

Bogie was tested for allergies, so these guys spent the day with their cousins.IMG_1927IMG_1919

One of my life-long friends, who now resides in New York, came home to celebrate her daughters 1st Birthday. It was great seeing her and her entire family. IMG_1947

We cashed in on our Easter present from my parents.IMG_1952IMG_1955IMG_1961

These guys were in hog heaven with hot dogs, nachos, sprite, frozen lemonade, and ice-cream. When I went as a kid, we got a hot dog and our seats were in the nosebleed section you see in the background up there. My kids think that ground level behind home plate is where you always sit. Can we say spoiled?

Thank you for the game and all of the treats!IMG_1988

Now, my MIL had to clean out  half of her house to fit us in, which meant going through tons of closets and drawers and cabinets. She cornered her two sons into going through their things. She had saved everything. Want to know how much stuff each guy kept?

About 5%. Men!

Bogie and Kai did gymnastics again this summer and guess how many shots I got of the two of them. If you guessed zero you are correct!

Bouncing on out of here. IMG_2032

Peace.

Back in the Saddle because we went Back to School

Well folks, summer is over and now its time to get on with life as we know it.

School. Blogging. Sports. Church. Work. Work. And more work.

The boys headed back to school this morning and wow, am I ever out of shape with taking pictures. My camera and I have got to get reacquainted, I kept checking shots and they were either way blown out or super dark. Must practice more.

Anyhow, here are some back to school snapshots.IMG_2041

Where is your smile Bogie?

IMG_2051

Look at those dimples! Oh and the missing teeth. Bogie is truly a one in a million kid.IMG_2053

My handsome firstborn. You will go so far in life. You got up and ran a half mile this morning just because you wanted to break in your new running shoes. Good thing Daddy was home to take you. Endurance, strength, intelligence; you’ve got them all!IMG_2046

When I asked Bogie to pick out some shoes for school, he said “I want those ones.” Yup, those are what we call “Bogie Shoes.” Charisma, intellect, and passion are your strengths. You are always such a joy. IMG_2049

Trying to get a picture of all 3 boys just didn’t happen. Neither did the family shot. IMG_2058

Here is Monkey with his teacher, Mrs. Rowe. He has an awesome class this year.IMG_2064

Chunk was ready to start school in Bogie’s classroom. Bogie starts on Wednesday and then we’ll get some more shots of him. This little one has persistence, communication, and drive. IMG_2076

Check back soon for the latest Dunbar happenings. It’s been a lot and at the same time, nothing much. Ever experience that?
