Here’s a recap of our day:
We started with a special breakfast of Orange-Bran French Toast.
This year in U5, the boys have practice before the games. Which started out really well.
But in 97 degrees 4-year olds out tire out real quick. Mr. Dunbar is an awesome encouraging coach. (Did I mention he's got mad soccer skills and great legs?) Monkey pushed his way through the heat and tiredness.
This little guy is ready to play on a team, like now. He ran onto the playing field quite a few times during the game with the full intention of getting to the ball. We had a 12:30 game time and the first team we played were like the Grizzly Giants. Each kid stood over our three boys by 3-inches. Atleast. It was so funny because they were so much bigger than our boys. (It was like playing against Luke Metzger- a friend of ours.)
Monkey scored a goal. The only goal made by his team.
(Even though in U5 we’re not really supposed to keep score.)
We were so proud of him.

SO are we!!!!! Good hanging out with you guys today!
looks like he had a great time. my little guy is #9 too, and I was the one who grew up playing soccer so that's why we put my son into it.
Bubba scored a goal too this weekend!!! I love soccer season. Mr. C. even had to coach Bub's game because our coach is coaching both of his boys teams. They both had a great day! It's good to pass on the passion of soccer ;)
Love his uniform - very fun colors. Hooray for the goal too - that's awesome. We hit the fields too. U6, U8 and U10...I think I'll be dreaming about soccer tonight.
Isn't soccer at that age so much fuN! We tried soccer for a year with each girl. It was fun to be a part of a team and meet local families too. Looks like a great day. And that french toast... oh my. Yummy and healthy!?!
woo-hoo on the goal!!! and i agree with jen--his uniform rocks!
What a fun era you have just entered. Official "soccer mom". I know you'll take lots of pics, my boys aren't even phased by my camera anymore.
My little girl started soccer 3 years ago... and is starting her 4th year this year! crazy fun! I never could have imagined how proud I could feel of her!~! it is SO much fun to watch her succeed, score and feel so proud of herself!! ;) my hubby coaches too.. but he has skinny legs! ha ha!
