Up on the Housetop

We tried our hands at making “Gingerbread” Graham Cracker houses, just like Ashley’s kids did. My sister-in-law tried it with a whole group of kids and said it worked fabulously. The glue gun rocks.xmas 2010 382 copy  xmas 2010 385 copy It was a fun activity and the boys ate as much sugar and candy off of their hands as they put on the house.xmas 2010 383 copyxmas 2010 387 copy

Off topic but, since we were staying home, I let the boys choose their own clothes completely. Monkey came out with his soccer uniform on, complete with socks and shorts. Bogie chose two green pirate tee’s that had to be piled on together with gray sweatpants.  HUH?

This is what you call a Dunbar Sense of Style.

It made me laugh (and then want to cry. j-k.) I’ve got my work cut out for me. Good thing they are good at things like math and physical dexterity.xmas 2010 388 copy xmas 2010 389

And while they were busy creating homes.

I was chomping away at this. xmas 2010 379 copy

The easiest fudge, I have ever made.

Recipe:

3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 can fat-free sweetened condensed milk

All melted together, removed from heat, then added 1.5 tsp of good vanilla extract. Set and chilled.

Oh my word. Pure goodness. And of course since I used the fat-free sweetened condensed milk there are no calories or fat in it. (Right?)

Enjoy your day.

Those green shirts are perfect for taking pictures...so cute! We're trying our hand at gingerbread houses tomorrow...we've never done it before and my son asked so we're doing it! (he never asks to do crafty things...so I'm jumping on this!)
Merry Christmas!
Oh, and I love that picture a few posts back of your son's holding hands...that's the BEST!!

Very cute, and nice job boys. From the sun streaming in your kitchen window, you can hardly tell we are under deluge weather! We did graham cracker houses last year, they were fun. This year, I will be lucky if cookies for the BIG guy get made.

We did graham cracker houses in CG's kindergarten class but we had milk cartons as the foundation. Fluff works great btw to stick the crackers to the carton.

Merry Christmas!!!
