Ramblings of an almost 4-year-old

Monkey has been spoutin' some interesting ideas recently, so I thought I'd share a few comments I remember from the last week or so.

While doing some flashcards of U.S. Presidents, George Washington was on the top of the stack. Monkey tells Bogie, "That's George Washington, he lives on the quarter."

Monkey is really into dates right now, especially since he knows his birthday is just around the corner. So Mr. Dunbar asked him if he knew when Christmas is and Monkey responded "1937." (There is a Christmas song played on the Christian radio station that has a line that goes, "It was Christmas time in 1937.") I guess it stuck as a date in Monkey's mind.

While riding the crimson wave, I can get pretty fiesty. All of us Dunbar's were in car the other day and Mr. Dunbar told me that I am 'mean to everyone...' from the backseat we hear "yeah, like ALL of America!" Gee, thanks Monkey.

Monkey's bible verse for the week is "My people know me and follow me. John 10:27'
When asked, "Who said this?" Monkey answered, "My teacher."
Great, did you get that God?

And this morning, again in the car, Monkey was telling me what to play on the radio. Telling me, the mom, so I told him he'd just have to wait. He pauses, sighs, lowers his voice and says, "Stop arguing with me. This is what's going to happen..."
Ummm, Hello!! I am the Mom.
Funny guy.

UPDATED: And I just thought of another instance:
Right before bed two nights ago, Monkey tells Mr. Dunbar that he is thirsty.
Mr. Dunbar tells him he "may only have a few sips of water."
Monkey says, "How about juice?"
Mr. Dunbar tells him, "Water."
Monkey says, "How about wine?"
Mr. Dunbar says, "What?!?"
Monkey says, "I said wine, how about wine?"
Mr. Dunbar says, "You are so your like mother."
Well, maybe Mr. Dunbar didn't say that last line but he was so thinking it.

He had me at the first picture. He is a crack up. I think 4 is a great year...they are so honest and without a filter, which is good and bad sometimes.

He sounds like a pretty funny little guy. Great pictures too.

I hope you don't mind that I added you to my list of blogs I like to read. :) I was always going to Amber's to get to yours and I figured I'd just make things a bit easier to read your clever posts.
