Nothings Happening

So yesterday in an effort to try and start labor my sisters-in-law and all of their kids hiked a mountain with us.

Seven kids, three moms, one stroller.

So what’s happening today?

Nothing.

Literally nothing.

Still dilated to a one, not effaced a bit.

C-section is scheduled for the 23rd if this baby doesn’t come on his own before that date.

I told the doctor, “He’s a Dunbar, takes his sweet ol’ time for anything. That’s exactly what Monkey did and he’s just like his Dad.” Actually I used some other choice words, made the doctor turn red in the face but this is our third baby together, so he already knows me. He just shook his head and said, “Poor Scott.”

Poor me!

I’ll be spending the weekend trying to jump start labor.

Any suggestions?

Oh you poor thing. Those last few days are just brutal. I've heard rasberry tea can do it. Maybe try drinking some. Or maybe just lots of prayer! Good luck!!

I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering what was going on! Nipple stimulation and sex are the two things I've heard, but neither worked for me! Also, I hear some women swear by some type of oil? Not sure what kind. Good luck. He'll be here before you know it:)

Well, I'll tell you what worked for me twice...sex! I know, it's so much fun when you are that far along, but so worth it if you want that baby out!

I haven't been to your blog in a while and this is the first comment you get in weeks! Wow! I promise I'm normal!! Good luck! He'll be here before you know it!

Was thinking about you tonight as I was reading Sheperding A Child's Heart. Reminded me of you and the love you pour into not only raising your boys but raising your boys to become Men of God. It is an amazing book if you haven't read it yet.

I keep checking the blog to see if baby Dunbar has arrived yet. Can't really help with ways to get him here, my children were both born on thier exact due date, which I am told rarely happens. I would love to bring you guys dinner one night, catch up and of course meet baby boy #3. Good Luck and get some extra sleep in while you wait :)

Go get a good foot massage. I have heard this works well to start labor! Love the pictures from your hike!

Spicy food? Sex? I would have thought a hike would have kicked labor in...

Hang in there. I remember those last days but soon you'll be holding a new bundle of baby love!

I ate a great big bacon cheeseburger with avocado and went into labor a few hours later...my husband kept telling me it was indigestion. NOT! That's great you are getting your exercise--should help.
